What is the history and evolution of Spectra Image, LLC and how has it adapted to changing technology?Spectra Image, LLC started as mDesignz Studios, LLC in 2000. Initially based in Orange County, California, the company eventually relocated to Colorado and most recently to Metamora, Michigan. Throughout this period, significant technological advancements took place, leading to changes in the services we offer. The name mDesignz Studios no longer accurately reflected the diverse and advanced types of images we produce. Thus, we rebranded to Spectra Image, LLC to better represent our modern capabilities and services. With over two decades of experience, we have continually adapted to the latest technology to deliver high-quality and innovative imaging solutions to our clients.

Does Spectra Image use drones to capture images or footage at public events, and what are the FAA regulations regarding this practice?Yes, Spectra Image employs drones to capture high-quality images and footage at public events. However, it's essential to understand the FAA regulations governing the use of drones in such settings. The FAA has defined four categories describing how drones may be used for public events. If you're interested in the details, please see the link from the FAA. To my knowledge, there are no commercially available drones that meet all of the FAA's rules without requiring all attendees to be informed that drone operations will be conducted over them. Spectra Image ensures compliance with all FAA guidelines to prioritize safety and transparency. Before any event, we inform all attendees about the use of drones and obtain the necessary permissions to align with federal regulations. This practice not only adheres to legal requirements but also maintains the trust and safety of our clients and their guests. In cases where we can't comply with the FAA regulations, we use cameras remotely controlled on cables. These "cable cams" (a.k.a Sky Cams) provide the additional advantage of being quiet and can be used for indoor and outdoor events.
